WEEE collection is one of the activities with clear objectives of the Respo WEEE Association, in order to treat and recycle/recover WEEE in facilities authorized for this type of service. Waste management of electrical and electronic equipment entails the fulfilment of collection targets, according to the law (GEO 5/2015), as follows:

THE MINIMUM COLLECTION TARGET IS CALCULATED ON THE BASIS OF THE FORMULA DESCRIBED BY MEANS OF GEO NO. 5/2015, AS A PERCENTAGE OF 45% OR 65% OF THE AVERAGE OF VOLUMES OF NEW EQUIPMENT PLACED ON THE MARKET IN THE LAST 3 YEARS.

The Respo WEEE Association, which started its activity on 02.08.2019, has already reached the minimum collection target for 2020, calculated based on the formula described in the legislation.

The AFM (Environment Fund Administration) legislation stipulates that if more than the minimum value described above is collected in one year, this amount cannot be carried forward to the following year.

The Respo WEEE Association offers several solutions in what concerns selective collection. We ensure the collection of EEE waste from both private individuals and companies and institutions. According to the law in force, the disposal of WEEE in the form of unsorted municipal waste, or their delivery to other economic operators than those authorized for the collection of WEEE, is prohibited.

Separate from the locations specifically intended for WEEE collection activities, we decided to come up with practical solutions in what concerns waste management and we developed collection systems that can be located in any space, from office buildings to waste collection areas.

WEEE COLLECTION FROM COMPANIES AND INSTITUTIONS

The Respo WEEE Association offers several options for the correct collection of waste from electrical and electronic equipment, of any type, generated by periodic scrapping, directly from the headquarters of companies and institutions, whilst complying with the required legal rules.

We provide free containers of various sizes for the selective collection of WEEE. The handover of WEEE is carried out in the collection system authorized for this purpose, by means of the network we are building, for the treatment and recovery of waste.

WEEE COLLECTION FROM PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS

Citizens have several options in what concerns WEEE handover:

  • By means of the collection points network organized and managed by local authorities, fixed or mobile points
  • In the stores of EEE distributors
  • In the shopping centres of companies authorized for collection
  • By means of actions carried out especially for collection purposes

One of the main problems of WEEE collection is the low number of possibilities for handing over generated waste, which causes many citizens to throw WEEE together with other categories of waste, subsequently making the treatment and recycling process very difficult.

For small EEE, we have created a custom box, intended for home use, for the collection of any equipment of this type that no longer works or is old.
